First light at Phra Pathom to Ratchaburi Province
EP.1 | The First Light at the First Priest and the Glory under the Lens Shadow at the "Marshal's Cave"
Everyone says that going to Ratchaburi has to go to the bee garden, soaking in hot wells...I listened to every suggestion, but for this trip, I chose to twist the throttle on a different path, on the cushion of the Lambretta X200, a pair of motorcycle ready to dabble together.
The clockwise pointed at 3: 30 a.m. on the morning of May 11, 2026, while Bangkok was not yet awake, me and my partner vehicle headed for their first intended destination, the Nakhon Pathom Morning Market.
Gold and Dark Blue Light: Warm Up at Nakhon Pathom
We got to the Pathom Pagoda area at 5: 30 a.m., and the picture was a little different from what we thought. Maybe because it was a weekday, the morning market looked a little lonely. The air around us was a little tired, but the replacement was "the first light of the day."
The sun that was emerging from the horizon reflected on the First Pagoda until it turned red and sparkling gold against the dark blue skyline that morning.
After absorbing the atmosphere, about 6 a.m., I restarted my engine, heading for the main goal of the trip...Marshal's Cave, Ratchaburi Province
Fear test, 30 centimeters under the cave ceiling.
I arrived in front of the marshals' den at 8: 30, which is not even the opening time, but the good luck is that I met a very kind officer, allowing us to visit, and you volunteered to watch the car because there are a lot of monkeys around here!
And this is the beginning of the adult-free one-man cave experience...
As soon as I stepped through the stairs to the mouth of the cave, the smell of bat shit floated to my nose. The entrance was a narrow channel with a staircase leading down to dim darkness. There was little light below. My heart started to beat up stubbornly. The bat flew full of heads. The distance between my head and the ceiling of the cave was less than 30 centimeters apart! At that moment I had to overcome my fear in my chest and step down.
The Destination of Amazing: When Fear Becomes Mindful
But then...As soon as the final staircase ended, the narrowness and awkwardness of the moment fizzled away.
Looking up at the picture in front of you, you can only exclaim the words "Oh!"
The cave hall below is very vast and spectacular. The stalagmites leave me magnificent. Although it's dark, the dim lights attached along the way help accentuate the dimensions of the cave. I walk deep in with a mixed feeling of wonder and a little fear. Too little light makes me not press the camera shutter often, but the mood inside is so "heartwarming."
Until walking to the last hall...Highlights I've been waiting for
The rhythm that grilled my feet and began to see the "Buddha" standing in the middle of the cave hall. The hair on my arm immediately rose up. It had a magic, beauty and magnificence that could not be described in letters. Natural light penetrated from the ceiling of the cave above and hit the Buddha, exactly like a spotlight from heaven.
I took only three or four photos for a memoir before slowly walking back out with euphoria.
And this is the beginning of my journey on EP.1...And let's see where Lambretta will take me next in the royal family!
