Umbrellas = not just for rain

Every time I use an umbrella for shade in the summer, I get weird looks like I’m being dramatic.

But why?? The sun here is brutal, and not everyone wants to roast just to “look normal.” In other countries it’s totally common for men and women to use umbrellas for sun protection.

Why is it so extra to just want some shade??
