I heard the girlies are making hair calendars💇🏾‍♀️

New year, new hair goals! ✂️ Started the year by trimming my dead ends and committing to a new hair regimen—consistent trims and deep conditioning all 2025. Let’s grow healthy and strong!

What are you doing different this year??

... Read moreInspired by the idea of a 'hair calendar,' I truly believe it's the game-changer for achieving those hair goals! Like many of you, I've had my share of hair struggles – split ends, dryness, and just feeling like my hair wasn't living up to its potential. That's why for 2025, I'm not just thinking about a new hair regimen; I'm actively planning it out, month by month, just like a proper hair calendar. This strategic approach to Hair Maintenance is what's going to make all the difference. First things first, let's talk about those consistent trims. My original post mentioned cutting off dead ends, and honestly, it felt so refreshing! But it's not just a one-time fix. For my hair type, I've found that a trim every 10-12 weeks works wonders for maintaining health and encouraging growth. I've started blocking out these appointments in my 'hairdresser calendar' right at the beginning of the year. This way, I'm less likely to forget or push it off. It’s a non-negotiable part of my routine, ensuring my ends stay healthy and don't split further up the strand. Deep conditioning is another cornerstone of my 2025 hair calendar. Before, I'd deep condition whenever I remembered, which, let's be honest, wasn't often enough! Now, I’m scheduling a dedicated deep conditioning treatment every two weeks. I even mark it down: 'Sunday, deep condition + hair mask.' It’s amazing how much difference a consistent routine makes. My hair already feels softer, looks shinier, and is much more manageable. For those with really dry or damaged hair, you might even want to do it weekly. Finding a deep conditioner that works for your specific hair needs is crucial – I personally love anything with avocado oil! Beyond trims and deep conditioning, a comprehensive hair calendar should include other crucial Hair Maintenance steps. Consider adding: Wash Days: What kind of shampoo and conditioner will you use? How often? I'm aiming for twice a week, focusing on gentle cleansers and a hydrating conditioner to avoid stripping my hair. Protein Treatments: If your hair feels weak, stretchy, or brittle, a protein treatment every 4-6 weeks can be incredibly beneficial. I've penciled these in for the months I'm not trimming, to balance moisture and strength. Styling & Protection: Are you heat styling? If so, schedule heat protectant use as a must-do step. Maybe designate 'no heat' days to give your hair a much-needed break. I'm trying to limit heat styling to once a week and always use a good thermal spray. Scalp Care: Don't forget your scalp! Regular scalp massages, exfoliating treatments, or even just making sure your shampoo truly cleanses can be added to your calendar. I'm planning a gentle scalp detox mask once a month to remove product buildup and promote a healthy environment for growth. Creating your own hair calendar doesn't have to be complicated. You can use a digital calendar, a physical planner, or even a simple notebook. The key is consistency and tailoring it to your hair's specific needs and goals. Think about when you'll buy new products (and stick to your budget!), when you'll try a new style, or even when you'll dedicate time to researching new hair tips. My hairdresser calendar isn't just for booking appointments; it’s a reminder to ask my stylist for personalized advice on products, techniques, and any new concerns I might have during my visits. This proactive approach to Hair Maintenance is what's truly going to make 2025 my best hair year yet. It’s about taking control and truly investing in the health and beauty of your hair, one scheduled step at a time. What will you add to your personalized hair calendar?
