How I Rebuilt My Body After My 5th Pregnancy

After my 5th little one, I didn’t go straight into intense workouts or rush back into the gym. I started at home with what I had and focused on rebuilding the basics. That meant slow, intentional movement, light core work, and exercises to reconnect with my body. I was still healing (and scared bc I had a c-section) and I needed to give myself grace.

One of the most important things I had to learn was how to actually listen to my body. I used to push myself way too hard, thinking I had to bounce back quickly. This time, I paid attention to how I felt each day. If something felt off, I backed off. That helped me stay consistent both physically and mentally.

I also realized that going all in with long, intense workouts didn’t work for me. I could not keep up with that pace, especially as a mom. So I kept it simple. I stayed consistent with shorter, realistic workouts a few days a week. That is what helped me build real strength over time.

With food, I stopped trying to follow strict rules. Instead, I focused on eating meals that made me feel good and gave me energy. I added more lean protein, vegetables, and healthy fats like avocado and salmon. That small shift made a huge difference in how I felt and how my body recovered.

This whole journey has been about rebuilding trust with my body. If you are starting over, take your time. You do NOT need to do everything perfectly🫶🏽 #lemon8partner

... Read moreAfter five pregnancies, many women face the challenge of reclaiming their physical fitness and self-identity. Rebuilding your body requires a careful approach, centered around self-awareness and patience. Instead of diving back into rigorous workouts, consider starting with light home exercises focused on core strength and pelvic floor recovery. Listening to your body is crucial during this time. Daily fluctuations in energy and mood can guide your workout intensity. For many moms, the idea of lengthy sessions can feel overwhelming. Therefore, opting for shorter, more manageable exercise routines can foster a sustainable fitness journey. Nutrition also plays a key role in recovery. Emphasizing whole foods, lean proteins, and healthy fats can provide energy and support bodily healing. Consider incorporating nutrient-rich foods like leafy greens, avocados, and salmon into your diet to enhance your overall well-being. Finally, remember that each body is unique, and the journey to recovery should be tailored to your individual needs. Celebrate small victories, and be gentle with yourself. It's not about perfection; it's about progress and finding a balance that works for you.
