The "Mon Bridge," or its official name, Utmanusorn Bridge, is not only the longest wooden bridge in Thailand, but also the cultural and spiritual heart of Sangaburi, Kanchanaburi Province, which connects people of different nationalities, especially Thais and Mon, to live and share stories for a long time.

Impressive history

The Mon Bridge was built with the cooperation of the villagers, with Father Utma (King Utma), a former abbot of Wangvivegaram, as the initiator and strong leader of the 1985-87 building with the intention of providing a comfortable commuter route to cross the Songaria River between the Thai side and the Mon village side.

Length: This wooden bridge reaches 850 meters, making it the longest wooden bridge in Thailand and the second in the world after Ubeng Wood Bridge in Myanmar.
