Every full moon, I feel this incredible pull to create a sacred space, and it's surprisingly easy to do with just a few intentional items. For this Buck Moon, I focused on clarity and release, and my altar really reflected that. I always start by cleansing my space, maybe with some sage or just a simple intention to clear stale energy. Then, I choose my altar cloth – a beautiful dark one with moon phases and stars always feels right for a full moon. The centerpiece is always a lit white candle. For me, it symbolizes purification, new beginnings, and bringing light to my intentions. I often gaze into the flame, using it as a focal point for reflection. It helps me quiet my mind and really think about what I want to release and what I want to call in. Next up are my beloved crystals. Moonstone is an absolute must-have for full moon rituals; it enhances intuition and emotional balance, perfectly aligning with the moon's energy. I also love using selenite for its incredible cleansing properties – it purifies both the space and other crystals. I usually place them around the candle or in a specific pattern that feels right to me. A bowl of water is another essential on my altar. Water represents emotions, intuition, and reflection. Sometimes, I even use it for a little scrying, just observing the surface and letting my unconscious mind wander. It's also a great way to symbolize letting go of what no longer serves me, as water flows and cleanses. I also like to include a small offering as an act of gratitude. This time, I chose a pear, which felt symbolic of abundance and nourishment. You can use fruit, flowers, or even a piece of art that resonates with you. And don't forget herbs! I sprinkled some dried rosemary for protection and cleansing, and a touch of cinnamon for attraction and warmth. The aroma itself adds so much to the atmosphere! Once everything is placed, I take a moment to sit with my altar. I’ll meditate, journal about my feelings, or simply hold my crystals and visualize my intentions. It’s all about creating that personal connection and allowing the moon's energy to amplify your spiritual work. Even if you're new to this, trust your intuition – there's no single 'right' way to do it. Just let your altar be a beautiful reflection of your inner world and what you seek to manifest or release under the full moon.
