What's in my skate bag as a beginner figure skater

In this article, I share the essential items in my skate bag, tailored for novice skaters venturing onto the ice for the first time. My Bladerunner ice skates, which I obtained for $70 from Amazon, offer solid support as I learn the basics. I plan to upgrade to Jackson skates in the future, known for their superior quality. To keep warm, I use handmade leg warmers made from yarn that cost around $10, plus labor. A good pair of gloves is crucial for keeping hands warm, and I chose a reliable pair priced at $50. Similarly, ear muffs from Amazon, costing $10, protect against chilly rink temperatures. Staying hydrated is also important, so I carry a stylish Lululemon water bottle, which retails for $28. Mindfulness in training is essential, and I keep a LEARN TO SKATE record book filled with ankle stretches to track my progress; I received this free of charge. I also use a stretching band and body lotion for after-skate recovery, both of which were gifts. A microfiber towel from Target—found for $15 in a pack—is handy for quick drying. These items collectively support my skating as I learn and progress. Every beginner’s skate bag will vary, but having a mix of functional, warmth-retaining, and hydration items can certainly enhance the experience on the ice as you develop your skills. Happy skating!
