👁️🦷🦷👁️ <- Me
I will always have crooked teeth y’all!
It took me a long time to accept that.
I struggle with body dysmorphia and one of the things I’ve struggled the most with is how crooked my teeth look.
I drank soda every day for most of my childhood, I struggled with dental hygiene growing up, and to top it all off I was a smoker for almost 8 years!!
So they’re yellowed a bit quicker than most folks and untouched by braces…and I never really liked the feeling of whitening strips 😭
I’ve embraced the idea of losing teeth as I age, truly, but my smile been one of my biggest insecurities for a long, long time. I hated taking pictures of myself, let alone an authentic and candid smile (not pictured)
The older I get, though, I don’t want to wait for the “perfect time” to take photos of myself. I want to enjoy my body, not despise it. (and y’know maybe my two front teeth are cute). I want my future generations to see absolutely everything that I am. It took so much effort for me to get to this point in my self-acceptance journey. I hope anyone who might be struggling with similar things gets to see the beauty in their smile too.
