better chances in job interviews with light makeup

Someone mentioned it would make me look more more professional. Does anyone think it's worth a shot? Anyone have stories of better treatment when they wear make-up?

I've been applying for positions in tech industry and so much of whether you get the job is just based of whether they like you or not, just want to maximise my chances.

If so, what advice would you give to someone whos never worn make-up who just wants to look professional?

Many candidates overlook the impact of appearance; light makeup can significantly enhance your look and boost your confidence. Research shows that individuals who present themselves well— including wearing light makeup—are often perceived as more professional and capable. If you're new to makeup, start with the essentials: a tinted moisturizer for even skin tone, a bit of concealer to cover blemishes, and a touch of mascara to open up your eyes. These basic products can help you achieve a polished look without feeling overdone. Practice at home to find a routine that feels comfortable and enhances your natural beauty. Remember, the goal is to look like the best version of yourself, not to transform into someone else. Also consider the importance of good grooming habits like well-kept hair and clean nails. Pairing these with light makeup can create a cohesive and professional appearance. Engage in conversations about your experiences and job aspirations with confidence that your polished look supports your qualifications. Ultimately, while makeup can help create a favorable impression, your skills and professional knowledge will be the key to landing your dream job.
