They are young but young doesn’t equal unable
Let’s cut the crap, saying teenage relationships are completely invalid is lazy and condescending. Yeah, teens are young but young doesn’t equal unable.
Why is it so hard to believe a 16 yrs old can treat their partner with kindness? Or that they can sit down, talk through a fight instead of blowing up? Or that they can have a relationship that’s not toxic? Not every teen relationship works out but newsflash, most adult relationships don’t either. Do we call those invalid just because they fizzle? No.
Dismissing a teen’s happy relationship with you’re too young to know isn’t wise, it’s rude. It ignores the care, effort, and genuine feelings they’re putting in. Love and respect don’t have an age limit. So if a teen relationship is healthy, kind, and mutual, why does their age make it any less real?
