Will there still be stamps after the govt reopens?
Seriously, has this hit everyone’s radar yet? SNAP benefits (food stamps) aren’t coming in November. And they won’t start back up until the government actually reopens.
It’s just devastating to think about the 42 million people this hits, low-income families, seniors, folks with disabilities who rely on this to put groceries on the table. This isn’t some extra perk, it’s the bare minimum. Feeding people should be the most basic thing a society gets right.
Politics are tied up in it, sure, they can’t even agree on using emergency funds to keep it going. But at the end of the day, real people are gonna go hungry. Does this make anyone else as angry and sad as it does me?

what's worse is here In Birmingham al. section 8 is riddled with young people, very young. like in bessemer, also Birmingham, al or Jefferson county. the waiting list for housing just opened up. first time since 2016!!!
