We’re having our kid in a few months. Let me tell you… my husband’s inner nerd is in full swing. Dude’s obsessed with history but Jane Austen? Pride and Prejudice? That’s his ultimate jam.
He’s over the moon… because he’s dead set on naming her Georgiana, Darcy’s little sister! I shot it down right away. Can you picture a kid named Georgiana navigating elementary school? All the nicknames (or worse, no nicknames!) ran through my head, so I said a hard no.
He got quiet, brought it up again later, and I stood my ground. Next thing I know, he’s teary-eyed, stormed to the bedroom, and hasn’t spoken to me since. Should I let him lean into his Austen obsession or is Georgiana just too much for a little girl? Help a mom out!
