Convincing you to read The God and the Gumiho

This God and the Gumiho by Sophie Kim is SO GOOD, friends. I am so grateful Fairyloot included it as an adult subscription pick (even if I’m a year or so late getting around to it 🫣). Swipe to the last side for some of the tropes, etc, while I gush about what I loved:
🌸 The banter that comes from our two MCs hating each other
🌸 A dynamic that reminded me of some of my favourite detective shows (Sherlock, Lucifer, etc). The cynical detective and the assistant who gets on their nerves with the added complication that the assistant is trying to steer the detective away from the truth.
🌸 Korean mythology! One of my favourite things about urban fantasy as a genre is seeing the pantheons and folklore of different cultures come into play depending on where it takes place.
🌸 A mystery that had me second-guessing my theories (I was right, which isn’t unusual for me, but I did doubt myself more than once which doesn’t always happen. And I loved seeing the little crumbs of foreshadowing)
🌸 Something I can’t say cause it’s a spoiler, but I cannot wait to see how it comes into play in The God and the Gwisin. I foresee lots of yearning ahead.
