Why I’m still blogging 14 years later 🫶
Happy birthday Keep Calm and Chiffon!!! 🎉🎁🥳 when I was 17 I decided to start a personal style blog as a summer experiment before I started college and I never would have guessed that I’d still be blogging on that same site all these years later.
Keep Calm and Chiffon has been with me through transferring colleges, moving states, starting my first job, getting laid off, finding my person and buying my first home.
It has gone through many eras as you can see and I’m proud of each one of them.
Keep Calm and Chiffon has evolved well past being a personal blog.
It’s the hub of my business, but also my heart. 💕
If you’ve ever stopped by the site to read a post, THANK YOU. You have no idea how much it means.
Here’s to all of the bloggers out there, and if you’re thinking of starting a blog in 2026, be sure to listen to episode 108 of Create & Consume where I share my top blogging lessons and takeaways.
Reflecting on more than a decade of blogging, I've realized how important it is to embrace change while staying true to your voice. Starting my blog as a summer experiment when I was 17, I never imagined the layers it would gather over the years—from simple fashion posts shot with my DSLR to a multifaceted lifestyle platform covering beauty, travel, and behind-the-scenes creator experiences. One piece of advice I often share with new bloggers is to allow your content to evolve naturally. When I transitioned from focusing solely on fashion to exploring beauty, travel, and even business aspects like brand pitching and community building, my audience grew with me. Not every phase needs to be perfect; each era brought lessons that helped refine my approach and voice. An aspect that many aspiring bloggers overlook is making your blog a sustainable business without losing the personal touch. Keep Calm and Chiffon became more than just a diary—it turned into the heart of my entrepreneurial journey. This balance keeps the content authentic and engaging, which resonates deeply with readers. Additionally, technology and social platforms change rapidly, so staying adaptable is key. For instance, early posts were manually crafted and photo-heavy, but now, I integrate video tutorials, podcasts, and interactive guides to keep the audience connected. If you're thinking about starting a blog in 2026, my experience shows the importance of patience, consistent storytelling, and building a community rather than chasing quick viral moments. Listening to episode 108 of my podcast, Create & Consume, can give you deeper insights into the realities and rewards of long-term blogging. Ultimately, blogging for 14 years has been a journey of personal growth, creative exploration, and meaningful connections—not just with readers but also with myself.
