On the outside, I may look perfectly fine. But inside, my left brain, nerves, and body are far from fine.

Every single day, I wake up to severe migraines that last throughout the day. I struggle with constant pain, numbness, and that pins-and-needles sensation in my left palm, sometimes even with purple spots appearing.

The pain and discomfort never leave me—I endure it day after day. Often, I ask myself, “Why me?” These struggles have worsened my anxiety and depression, forcing me onto higher doses of medication just to cope.

Since my discharge, my extended family keeps saying I look normal. And yes, I do look normal on the outside. But what they cannot see is the heavy burden I carry inside—the relentless migraines, vertigo, numbness, and pain that follow me without fail every day. Sometimes, the suffering makes me feel like giving up. That’s why I’ve stopped trying to explain my condition to them—it feels unnecessary when they cannot see or understand what I’m truly going through.

This invisible illness makes me feel abnormal, drained, and deeply depressed. Yet despite it all, I’ve made a choice. I choose to keep fighting this silent battle—with resilience, and with hope.

... Read moreLiving with an invisible illness can be an isolating and complex experience. Many people around us may appear perfectly healthy on the outside, but suffer silently from conditions that are unseen and often misunderstood. This invisibility frequently leads to a lack of empathy or comprehension from others, including family members who might insist that everything looks fine. Chronic migraines are one of the most debilitating aspects highlighted, characterized not only by intense pain but also by accompanying symptoms like vertigo, numbness, and unusual sensations such as pins-and-needles or purple spots in the limbs. These symptoms can be alarming and distressing, impacting daily function and mental health deeply. The overlap of symptoms can sometimes challenge even healthcare professionals to identify and manage the condition effectively. Furthermore, the mental health implications are significant. Constant pain can worsen anxiety and depression, creating a vicious cycle that requires higher doses of medication and increased support. It is important to recognize that invisible illnesses are not simply physical; they have a profound emotional toll. Patients often face skepticism or lack of validation, making it difficult to discuss their experiences openly. Poetic reflections provide comfort and affirmation during these struggles. For example, the quote "Healing in and rocks comes waves maybe today hits the the wave healing" suggests that recovery is nonlinear, with challenges ebbing and flowing like waves. Likewise, "Blessed are the hearts that bend; çan they shall be never broken," reminds us that resilience is found in flexibility and endurance. For anyone living with such conditions, finding support groups or communities where they feel understood can be crucial. Connecting with others who share similar invisible illnesses helps reduce feelings of isolation and encourages sharing of coping strategies. Additionally, educating family and friends can foster empathy and diminish misunderstandings. Ultimately, the choice to keep fighting despite the hardships embodies true strength. Resilience is fueled by hope and the desire to find meaning beyond pain. Invisible illnesses are indeed a silent battle, but acknowledging them openly can pave the way toward greater awareness and better care for those affected.

Scary on the outside… but cute no less
He showed up like this… 😳 So I had to decide — do I draw the scary version… or the real him? Went somewhere in between. That’s the fun part about caricature — not just how someone looks, but how they feel. And honestly… the drawing might be less scary than him 😂🎨 #CaricatureArt #LiveDra

Smile on the outside
Sometimes you smile on the outside but inside you’re tired in a way rest can’t fix. Not the “need sleep” tired, the kind that comes from carrying too much for too long. As a working mum, I’m building a life where I don’t have to choose between work and family. A life with more presence, more
