She didn’t recognize herself 😭
There are moments in life when we glance in the mirror and feel like we don’t recognize the person staring back. These instances can be triggered by many factors like stress, significant physical changes, or deep emotional shifts. For me, this feeling hit hard after going through a stressful period where I neglected self-care and felt increasingly disconnected from who I was. I found that acknowledging these feelings instead of ignoring them was the first step towards rebuilding my identity. Taking time to reflect on what had changed and why helped me regain a sense of control. I also discovered that reaching out to close friends and sharing my experience provided comfort and perspective. Taking incremental steps like establishing a daily routine, engaging in activities I once enjoyed, and practicing mindfulness gradually restored my sense of self. It reminded me that although change can feel disorienting, it also presents an opportunity for growth and rediscovery. If you find yourself feeling like you don’t recognize who you are, remember it’s okay to feel this way. Allow yourself the grace and time to navigate through these changes—sometimes the most rewarding journeys begin with questioning our own reflections.
