I can’t wait to meet my sweet boy in July.

Pregnancy has a way of making you dream about every stage, and the 3-month mark is often seen as a sweet spot where newborns start to become more interactive and their personalities truly begin to shine. From what I've learned and heard from other moms, a 3-month-old is a bundle of emerging joy. Gone are some of the earliest newborn fogginess, replaced by more alert periods and delightful discoveries. One of the biggest milestones I'm looking forward to is seeing that true, social smile. Imagine his little cheerful baby boy face lighting up when he sees me! It's supposed to be one of the most rewarding moments for new parents. They start to coo and babble, experimenting with sounds, which must be incredibly sweet to hear. Physically, I know that tummy time becomes even more important around this age. They're typically gaining much better head control and might even be trying to push up on their forearms. I can just picture my little boy, maybe with *light hair and blue eyes*, working hard during tummy time, eventually smiling broadly with accomplishment! Hand-eye coordination is also developing, so reaching for toys and bringing hands to the mouth are common. I'm already eyeing some colorful rattles and soft books for him. When it comes to feeding and sleep, it sounds like things can start to get a bit more predictable, though every baby is different, of course! Many 3-month-olds might space out their feedings a little more and possibly even sleep for longer stretches at night. A mom friend told me she started a gentle bedtime routine around this time, which really helped her baby distinguish day from night. I'm hoping for some of that! But I’m also prepared for the reality that sleepless nights are just part of the journey at this age. Interacting with a 3-month-old sounds so much fun. They love looking at faces, so lots of talking, singing, and making eye contact is key. I'm excited to see him track objects with his eyes and respond to different sounds. I've even thought about dressing him in a cute light blue shirt and dark suspenders for a special occasion – it’s these little details that make the future feel so real. It’s truly a phase where they are becoming more aware of their surroundings and the people in their lives, making every interaction precious. It's not just about changing diapers and feeding anymore; it's about building that incredible bond and watching a tiny human blossom before your eyes.
