I took one book on vacation to read and it was JoJo Unplugged by Jamie Orr of Book Blush Romance🤍
I stayed up last night until after midnight finishing this book 🙈I loved it! The premise is that an overworked musician with an overbearing manager/ex-boyfriend goes to hide away for a while, and in the process, ends up living in a cabin next to her childhood rockstar crush.
As a musician, I was really excited to read something that had certain technical aspects of song writing and performing spelled out in detail. 🎶
It reminded me of When in Rome by Sarah Adams mixed with Hannah Montana and Camp Rock (Yes, I know I’m old. Leave me alone! 😂) For me, it felt very nostalgic while being something new and different. I have a difficult time reading (especially with my eyes and getting therapy for them), it is hard for me to focus most of the time, but this book held my attention effortlessly.
There was a little bit of cursing but it was minimal, and there was one reference to adult activities but it was in the past and handled well. 🫶
