Hello! A lil into. My name is Hien, I write about ghosts, grieving girl, and other spooky things. I have a YA speculative thriller coming out next year 🤗#horrorwriter #writer #author #intropost #thriller
It’s truly amazing to connect with you all here! As a digital creator, I love sharing snippets of my world, especially my journey as a writer. Many of you might know me for my spooky tales and thrillers, but it’s more than just scares – it’s about delving deep into the human experience, often through a supernatural lens. My upcoming YA speculative horror thriller, 'Twin Tides,' is something I'm incredibly passionate about. It really embodies so much of what I love to explore. Imagine the atmospheric mystery of 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' mixed with the poignant family dynamics of 'Parent Trap,' all steeped in the rich, often haunting, tapestry of Vietnamese mythology. For me, this wasn't just a story idea; it was a chance to explore themes that resonate deeply, like the complexities of intergenerational rage and how grief crossing time and space can shape us. Writing 'Twin Tides' allowed me to really dive into creating characters, especially 'messy women & girls,' who navigate incredibly difficult circumstances. The story follows long-lost identical twins, Aria and Caliste, as they uncover the truth behind their mother's death and confront a ghoul haunting the waters of their small town. It's about betrayal, self-discovery, and the powerful, sometimes terrifying, bonds of family. I drew on personal reflections and cultural heritage to bring these elements to life, hoping readers will feel both thrilled and deeply moved. Beyond 'Twin Tides,' my work often gravitates towards 'eldritch horrors' and stories that make you question the known world. I find immense satisfaction in crafting narratives that explore the unknown, challenge societal norms, and give voice to experiences that are often whispered rather than shouted. As a digital creator, I aim to create spaces where we can discuss these themes, share our own spooky encounters, and connect over our love for all things eerie and thought-provoking. My writing process is chaotic but rewarding. It usually involves a lot of late-night brainstorming, copious amounts of coffee, and an endless fascination with folklore and the psychological underpinnings of fear. I believe that horror, at its best, isn't just about jump scares; it's a mirror reflecting our deepest anxieties and societal issues. Whether it’s 'ghosts' or other 'spooky things,' I strive to write stories that linger long after the last page, sparking conversations and perhaps even a little introspection. I'm always looking for ways to engage with my readers and fellow creators online, sharing insights into my craft and the inspirations that fuel my imagination. It's a wonderful journey, and I’m so glad to have you along for the ride!
