Alessa has killed every fighting partner she's been paired with. With the apocalypse coming, she must find a new partner in order to channel her powers and save the realm. But what if she was Goddess-cursed instead of being goddess-blessed?

With multiple attempts on her life, Alessa hires a bodyguard. But when fate has other plans and everything becomes topsy-turvy, who will rise to the occasion? Will they all perish?

I really enjoyed this book. It's very heavily italian-inspired, but we have a Caraval meets Fourth Wing and Roar vibe going on.

The ending reminded me a little of Divine Rivals, but in my opinion, it was better, and I'm really looking forward to starting book 2.

The humor was great. The characters were fabulous. My favorite, as I think most people's, is Dante. The smut, although fade to black, was there. If I had to rate the spice factor, it's a 1. Overall, I'm giving it 4 stars 🌟
