Review:
I actually listened to this twice. I missed a lot of details the first time and I'm so glad that I went back in for a second go! The story is dark and gritty and enchanting. It reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean but if Elizabeth Swan was a siren.
We have 2 spicy scenes in this story which you can skip if you dont like spice and wont miss a thing plot-wise, although I did enjoy them.
King Theo reminds me of Dorian Havilliard from Throne of Glass mixed with the sass of Anton from A Dance of Lies.
We get a few pirate ship style fights, lots of creepy mermaid/siren creatures, magic, and water goddesses.
Overall, I would say the story is a 3.5 🌟. I'm definitely invested enough to finish the Duology.
