A voice shouted her name. Flashlights cut through the windows. Doors opened. Footsteps thundered down the hallway.
She didn’t move when the officers entered. Didn’t resist when they screamed for her to drop the weapon. She let them grab her, twist her arms behind her back, and shove her to the ground. Her cheek hit the hardwood with a thud, smearing blood across the floor.
Someone gagged. Another cursed under their breath.
“Jesus Christ... what the hell happened here?” one of them muttered.
Lyric cackled.
