In 2022, I published my first YA novel, A Candleās Magic, and its sequel, Strength Reborn. I started writing these books (which are no longer available, sorryš ) in 2018 when I finally decided to get a jumpstart on my professional writing career. Well, guess what? These books flopped HARD, and my writing skills werenāt at the level I thought they would be. But thatās okay. Iāve learned so much since taking a chance and putting my writing out there. One, patience is key. Two, if you want to write a book, then you need to have more than an idea. You must have a true passion for creating the very best story you can. Three, itās okay to switch genres. Four, not everyone will love or understand your writing. And five, fall foliage makes for some damn cute bookish picsšš Iāve been reminiscing about my author journey lately as 2025 winds down. Iāve come a long way and still have a long way to go before I reach all these goals. But Iām so grateful for the lessons, the experience, and the amazing authors and readers Iāve met along the way.
