Reality of imposter syndrome as an author
A topic I haven’t talked about lately is imposter syndrome. I know it’s not something we as authors like to acknowledge often (I hate jinxing my progress), but it still matters.
Some days, I feel great about my writing. Others, I’m totally lost and confused and want to throw the laptop out the window. But without that natural fear of failure, I wouldn’t be growing and learning new ways to combat these feelings healthily.
Authors, you are more than your doubts, fears, and feelings of “wtf am I even doing?” I promise it’s okay to celebrate yourself and your writing. You wouldn’t be doing this if your heart wasn’t in it and if you didn’t have important stories to share. Take time for yourself and remember to embrace every part of this journey. It’s worth it and so are you.
So here’s me smiling with a few summer romcoms I’m extremely proud of. These characters mean the world to me. They remind me of how far I’ve come and to never quit writing stories that make me smile💛
