Thriller Book Recommendation 🔪🩸

This was my second time reading a thriller and I have to say this book has made me fall more in love with the genre. I read this book on a work trip in a matter of 2 days, i simply couldn’t put It down. I stumbled upon the book without looking up the reviews and so i had no idea what I was getting into but as I got into It I loved every minute of how dark and traumatizing the story line was.

Lisa really put thought into each plot so intentionally. I feel like she dragged out the mystery but gave us the right clues along the way to make us wonder and try to put the pieces of the puzzle together but couldn’t figure It out completely. As a girl mom this was the type of story that made me think about real life situations and precautions I probably should be taking.

It made me sick to my stomach just thinking about something like this happening to one of my girls but this was exactly the reason why I loved this book so much more because of the story line being a real life possibility (I grew up watching law & order ok)

Although the ending was predictable there were still pieces to the mystery along the way that was not. Overall this story was very entertaining and I look forward to reading some more of Lisa’s books.

... Read moreIn recent years, psychological thrillers have gained immense popularity, often blending various elements such as suspense, drama, and even romance. One standout example is 'She Was Gone' by Lisa Jewell, a gripping novel that intricately weaves a tale of a mother whose daughter goes missing and the haunting aftermath of that event. The book excels in character development; readers are drawn into the emotional turmoil and resilience of the protagonist as she navigates life after her daughter's disappearance. The richness of Jewell's storytelling offers not only a puzzle to be solved but also a deep exploration of themes like grief and the lengths to which a parent will go to uncover the truth. Recent trends indicate a shift in readership preferences towards stories that not only entertain but also provoke thought, sparking discussions about real-life issues presented through the lens of fiction. As readers become more discerning, they seek out novels that deliver both suspense and emotional depth, making psychological thrillers a lasting favorite in literary circles. Additionally, engaging with similar genres and authors can enhance the reading experience. For those captivated by Jewell's work, exploring writers like Harlan Coben or Paula Hawkins can yield equally thrilling finds. By diving deeper into the realm of thrillers, fans not only satisfy their cravings for suspense but also uncover valuable insights about human nature and resilience. As more readers share their recommendations online, platforms like Lemon8 become vital spaces for discovery, allowing book lovers to connect through reviews, discussions, and shared experiences. So whether you're a longtime fan or new to the genre, picking up a psychological thriller like 'She Was Gone' promises to be a beneficial addition to your reading list.
