😱, the "11th Bunting Pole" of the 2nd Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge.
Back in 2004-2006, during the construction of the 2nd Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge, a team of engineers and workers faced many obstacles, especially around the 11th Bunting, located in the middle of the Mekong River.
According to locals and those involved at the time, it was believed that the spot was the site of the "Serpent Cave," or Viman, below the ground, causing the construction of the area to be filled with unexpected events, frequent machine failures, broken drill heads and sank under the river, including crane cranes, and the death of foreign engineers and workers, became a big news of the era.
With the belief that the villagers believed that the construction might disturb the sacred site of the serpent, and then the Anantanakrash Father-Grandfather's Court was built, ready to perform the ceremony, request and dedicate the charity according to the faith, after which the construction of the 11th bunting could continue to be completed and the bridge successfully activated.
Today, the 11th early Bunting Pole is not only an integral part of the bridge over the Mekong, it has become yet another myth, belief and mysterious narrative that is being uttered alongside the Mekong to this day.

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวที่เคยเดินทางข้ามสะพานมิตรภาพไทย–ลาว แห่งที่ 2 ที่จังหวัดมุกดาหาร ทำให้ได้เห็นถึงความสำคัญและความงดงามของสะพานแห่งนี้ที่เชื่อมระหว่างสองประเทศอย่างเหนียวแน่น นอกจากจะเป็นเส้นทางคมนาคมที่สะดวกสบายแล้ว สถานที่นี้ยังมีเรื่องเล่าที่น่าสนใจเกี่ยวกับ "เสาตอม่อต้นที่ 11" ซึ่งกลายเป็นจุดศูนย์กลางของตำนานและความเชื่อที่ชาวบ้านเล่าสืบต่อกันมา เมื่อได้ฟังเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับความลึกลับและอาถรรพ์ตอม่อต้นที่ 11 ก็ทำให้ตระหนักว่าการก่อสร้างสะพานใหญ่ข้ามแม่น้ำโขงนั้นมีความท้าทายอย่างมาก ไม่ใช่แค่เพียงเรื่องเทคนิควิศวกรรม แต่ยังเกี่ยวข้องกับความเชื่อและวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นที่ลึกซึ้ง ความเชื่อเรื่องถ้ำพญานาคใต้บาดาลที่มีอิทธิพลต่อพื้นที่แถบนี้ ทำให้มีพิธีบวงสรวงและสร้างศาลพ่อปู่พญานาคอนันตนาคราช เพื่อตอบแทนและเคารพความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของพื้นที่ ในฐานะนักท่องเที่ยวที่ชื่นชอบการสำรวจสายน้ำโขงและวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น ผมแนะนำให้ลองแวะไหว้ศาลพ่อปู่พญานาคเมื่อมีโอกาสเดินทางมาที่มุกดาหาร นอกจากจะได้สัมผัสกับวิถีชีวิตและความเชื่อของชาวบ้านแล้วยังได้เรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์และเรื่องราวลี้ลับที่เพิ่มสีสันให้กับการเที่ยวชมสะพานแห่งนี้ จำได้ว่าในวันที่ผมไปเยือน บรรยากาศโดยรอบสะพานมีความสงบร่มเย็น แม้เรื่องเล่าต่างๆ จะดูน่ากลัว แต่ก็สะท้อนถึงความเคารพธรรมชาติและตำนานภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นอย่างลึกซึ้ง สำหรับใครที่สนใจเรื่องราวศรัทธาและประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่น แนะนำให้มาสัมผัสด้วยตัวเอง พร้อมเปิดใจรับฟังเรื่องเล่าจากชาวบ้านและผู้คนที่ยังยึดถือความเชื่อนี้อยู่จนถึงปัจจุบัน สุดท้ายนี้ การที่สะพานแห่งนี้ก่อสร้างสำเร็จและกลายเป็นสัญลักษณ์มิตรภาพไทย–ลาวนั้น ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นความสำเร็จด้านเทคนิค แต่ยังรวมถึงการให้เกียรติในวัฒนธรรมและความศรัทธาอันสืบทอดมายาวนาน ผมหวังว่าประสบการณ์และเรื่องราวนี้จะสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้แก่ผู้ที่สนใจท่องเที่ยวและเรียนรู้เรื่องราวประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่นของไทยและลาวมากขึ้น
