3 eggs over easy with a “spicy” tomato base topped with cheese (they did feta but I didn’t have any on hand so I just used Colby jack) absolutely amazing meal especially to “take a break” from the basic egg taste! Perfect middle meal when you are doing the egg fast ! It’s definitely going to help me keep pushing through with tomorrow’s meals!
Okay, so we've talked about spicing up your egg fast dinners with something amazing like Shakshuka. But what about the most important meal of the day – breakfast? Sticking to an egg fast can get a little monotonous, especially when you’re trying to come up with new ways to eat eggs first thing in the morning. I know the struggle! For those mornings when you’re craving something simple yet satisfying, boiled eggs are a true egg fast staple. They’re quick to prepare in advance, easy to grab, and super versatile. I often prep a batch of hard-boiled eggs at the start of the week. This saves so much time on busy mornings! You can enjoy them plain with a sprinkle of salt and pepper, or get a little creative. My favorite way to eat them for breakfast during an egg fast is sliced with a dollop of sugar-free mayonnaise and a tiny pinch of paprika – it feels like a treat! Sometimes, I’ll even mash them with a bit of mayo to make a quick 'egg salad' that I scoop with celery sticks or low-carb crackers (if allowed on your specific egg fast variation). It really helps to break up the routine of just plain eggs. Remember, the goal is to keep things interesting so you don't give up on your egg fast too soon. Now, let's talk about smoothies for breakfast. You might be thinking, 'a smoothie on an egg fast?' And yes, it's possible! The key is to keep it low-carb and egg-friendly. While traditional fruit smoothies are out, you can create delicious, creamy concoctions that fit the bill. My go-to egg fast smoothie usually involves a couple of raw eggs (don't worry, the taste is masked!), a good quality protein powder (check for no added sugars), a splash of unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk, and a tiny bit of stevia or erythritol for sweetness. Sometimes I'll add a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder for a chocolatey kick, or a few drops of sugar-free vanilla extract. If you're feeling adventurous and your egg fast allows for a tiny bit of healthy fat, a quarter of an avocado can add incredible creaminess and healthy fats without many carbs. Blend it all up with some ice, and you have a surprisingly satisfying and quick breakfast that feels completely different from a plate of scrambled or boiled eggs. It's a fantastic option for those mornings you're on the go and need something quick and refreshing. Just make sure all your ingredients are egg fast compliant! Remember, switching up your meals, whether it’s a spicy Shakshuka for dinner or a creamy egg smoothie for breakfast, is crucial for staying motivated during an egg fast. Don't let boredom derail your progress! Experiment with different preparations and discover what works best for you. Happy fasting!
