My current skincare routine from an oily extremely acne prone 32 year old
1. Hydrating gel cleanser— right now I’m using @Eminence Organics stone crop gel cleanser. I love the texture and it leaves my skin feeling super clean without stripping. For an affordable option I always have a @Prequelskin gleanser on hand. The texture is divine and it feels super hydrating and calming for my sensitive skin
2. Hydrating/calming toner— the @EADEM mama wata is such a moment of calm in my routine. The scent literally reminds me to center myself and it helps with my redness and irritation prone skin. For a more affordable option I love the @cocokind calming magnesium facial mist for redness, barrier support, and clarifying breakout prone skin
3. Antioxidant serum— I’ve been using @iS CLINICAL pro heal serum advanced for years. Its my go to vitamin c because I get the antioxidant support with the healing and calming properties and none of the greasy stinkyness that so many other vitamin c serums have
4. Peptide serum— @SkinCeuticals P-tiox is that glass skin girrrrlllll I love her. I can use it morning and night and it makes my skin feel plump and not a wrinkle in sight. I also love @Medik8 peptide serums for a cheaper option!
5. Discoloration serum— I started using @skinbetter science even tone intensive serum during my cool peel sessions to help with my skin discoloration. I still have a ways to go but I definitely think it’s helping and I’ve noticed a big difference!
6. Eye cream— I have literally been using the iS Clinical youth eye complex for monthssss this has lasted me so long. I haven’t tried many other eye creams lately because I’ve been loving this one. Its gentle and doesn’t feel too heavy under makeup and I use it morning and night.
7. Moisturizer— I’m usually not a gel cream girl but this @INNBEAUTY PROJECT recharge gel cream is gorgeous. It doesn’t feel like it just disappears on my skin and I love that I can give myself a yummy facial massage
8. Sunscreen — I am such a sunscreen girl!!! There really so many that I love. I got this @LaRochePosayUS mineral sunscreen in Europe and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Doesn’t break me out, wears beautifully under makeup, doesn’t pill, and does leave my skin feeling greasy. Let me know if you want me to do a round up of my other favorite acne safe sunscreens!
I know this is a looooottttt but I love investing in my skincare. It feels like a little moment to myself and finding out what my skin likes after years of feeling so confused and at war with my skin is a relief. As always, let me know if you have any questions!

As someone who has dealt with extremely oily and acne-prone skin well into my 30s, I understand how challenging it can be to find skincare products that truly work without causing more irritation. One thing I've learned over time is the importance of layering hydration with targeted treatments to manage both acne and skin sensitivity effectively. Starting with a gentle yet hydrating gel cleanser is key. I’ve tried various options, but a cleanser that removes excess oil without stripping the skin maintains the moisture barrier and prevents rebound oiliness. Pairing that with a calming toner helps soothe redness and irritation, which are common struggles for acne-prone skin prone to inflammation. Antioxidant serums, especially those with Vitamin C, provide dual benefits — brightening the skin and promoting healing from acne-related discoloration. It’s crucial to select a formula that absorbs quickly without a greasy finish since oily skin reacts poorly to heavy textures. Adding peptide serums can be a game changer as they help enhance skin firmness and plumpness, reducing the appearance of pores and fine lines. From personal experience, consistent use of peptide-based treatments morning and night has improved my skin texture dramatically. For discoloration and post-acne marks, intensive serums designed for evening skin tone have shown noticeable improvements when integrated with professional treatments like chemical peels. Staying patient and consistent with these products is essential, as results typically appear gradually. Eye creams should be lightweight yet nourishing since the delicate under-eye area can become dry or crepey, especially when using active ingredients elsewhere on the face. Finding a gentle formula that layers well beneath makeup makes a big difference in daily comfort. A moisturizer that supports skin barrier repair without feeling heavy or greasy is a must-have. Gel creams often strike the perfect balance for oily skin types, allowing for a soothing facial massage ritual that enhances circulation and product absorption. Last but not least, sunscreen is non-negotiable. Mineral sunscreens with formulations that avoid breakouts and provide a smooth finish under makeup let me protect my skin daily without compromising on comfort or coverage. If you’re curious, I can share more about acne-safe sunscreens that fit a variety of budgets and skin sensitivities. Through trial and error, investing in skincare tailored to your specific needs creates a calming, empowering daily ritual rather than a frustrating battle. Listening to how your skin responds and adjusting accordingly makes all the difference on the journey to healthier skin.
