Make Christmas Cookies With Me!
I made sugar cookies for my family this weekend and thought it would be fun to share. This is not my own recipe, the credit goes to Sugar Spun Run By Sam Marritt
1. First, beat 1c unsalted butter and 1c sugar until smoothly combined.
2. Add 1 large egg and 1.5 tsp vanilla, mix until combined.
3. In a separate bowl whisk together 2.5c all purpose flour, 3/4 tsp baking powder, & 3/4 tsp salt.
4. Slowly combine your flour mix into your wet ingredients, while mixing.
5. Cool for a minimum of 2 hours, and no longer than 5 days. Shape it most conveniently for you; flattened temporary cookies, saran wrap ball(s), or even just a covered bowl.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Allow to FULLY cool before decorating
Icing:
1. Combine 3c of sifted powdered sugar (should look smoother than my non-sifted), 2tbs of whole milk, 2tbs corn syrup, and 1/2tsp vanilla. If the consistency becomes dry just add milk, and if it’s too thin add powdered sugar.
2. Separate into bowls, color, and mix. *Optional*
3. Pour into piping bag (wax paper cone works) and have fun!
