SIGNATURE FRAGRANCES
Someone’s scent can leave a lasting impression on a person… so much so you change your new scent to theirs. Here are 2 of my favorite, in my opinion life changing scents that will make you forget about what you’re currently wearing.
1. Montblanc: This is my everyday scent. I spray it 4-5 times covering the entire perimeter of my body and it isn’t tooo overwhelming… it leaves a light & fresh vanilla scent.
2. Santal 33: This is my special occasion/out to dinner/ night scent. It’s a sultry scent perfect for a date night or wedding affair. This scent is potent and needs about 1-2 sprays max. Its longevity can linger for days & it is truly one of the best perfumes on the market in my opinion.
You know how a certain scent can just transport you or make you feel instantly more confident? That's exactly how I feel about Santal 33. Beyond just being my special occasion go-to, I wanted to dive a little deeper into why this fragrance is such a game-changer and answer some of the questions I often get about it. First off, let's talk about those iconic notes. When I first tried Santal 33, I was immediately drawn to its distinctive woody character. The OCR notes mention "woody, musk, and papyrus," and honestly, that perfectly captures its essence. It's not just a simple sandalwood; it has a rich, almost smoky depth from the papyrus, complemented by a subtle, clean muskiness that makes it incredibly intriguing. Some people describe it as a 'fresh cowboy' scent, and I totally get that – it's sophisticated but also has this raw, wild allure. It’s what makes it so memorable and unique, setting it apart from many other fragrances out there. Another thing people often ask about is the bottle itself. Yes, it's incredibly minimalist, but I think that's part of its charm! The clean lines and simple label just scream 'effortless cool.' It doesn't need flashy packaging because the scent truly speaks for itself. It looks chic on any vanity and really lets the fragrance be the star. Now, for the fun part: layering! While Santal 33 is powerful enough on its own, I've experimented with layering it to create different vibes. For a softer, more inviting feel, I sometimes pair it with a light vanilla-based body lotion before spraying Santal 33. The warmth of the vanilla really rounds out the woody notes beautifully. If I want to enhance its freshness, a spritz of a simple, clean bergamot or citrus spray beforehand can work wonders, especially in warmer weather. It's all about playing around and finding what works best for your skin chemistry and mood. Speaking of everyday scents, my Montblanc pick is the perfect counterpoint. While Santal 33 is bold and makes a statement, my Montblanc fragrance is all about subtle elegance. The OCR notes highlight "vanilla, oak, and bergamot," which creates such a delightful balance. The vanilla provides a comforting sweetness, the oak adds a grounded, slightly creamy woodiness, and the bergamot gives it a bright, fresh lift. It’s light enough that I can comfortably spray it 4-5 times for a lovely aura without feeling overwhelmed, leaving that light, fresh vanilla trail the original post mentions. It's truly versatile and makes me feel put-together, even on the busiest days. Choosing a signature scent, or even a few for different occasions, is such a personal journey. It's amazing how a fragrance can become a part of your identity and evoke memories. Don't be afraid to explore different notes and brands until you find what truly resonates with you. Remember, the best scent is one that makes you feel amazing!
