TIP FOR PARENTING A BAD SLEEPER 👶🏼 💤

Our daughter was a preemie and literally just slept ALL the time for the first few months while she caught up and she slept really well up until around 4 months and ever since then it’s felt like we can’t get a break 🫠.

I know this tip sounds silly and my fiancé and I aren’t usually ones to try something like this but something needed to change and I hated that we were having negative talk/feelings not necessarily ABOUT our daughter but kind of towards her. I can’t believe how much this has been helping us to be patient! 10/10 recommend trying it!

... Read moreParenting a child with sleep challenges can be overwhelming, especially for first-time parents. New parents often find themselves unprepared for the reality of sleepless nights after the initial ease of infant sleep fades. The key to re-establishing a peaceful sleep routine involves adjusting your approach and implementing gentle yet effective strategies. One of the most beneficial practices is to eliminate negative talk surrounding sleep issues. Instead of expressing frustration, focusing on positive language can significantly alter your child’s response and minimize stress in the household. Acknowledging that sleeplessness is part of parenting can cultivate a calm atmosphere that contributes to better sleep outcomes. Parents might consider creating a bedtime ritual that incorporates soothing activities, making it easier for both the child and the parent to transition into sleep. Additionally, various expert resources recommend patting or rubbing your child’s back as a calming method, which may ease their anxiety during the night. Tools such as white noise machines or gentle lullabies can also promote a serene sleeping environment. Finally, connecting with other parents through forums or social media offers invaluable support and shared experiences. Platforms like Lemon8 allow parents to exchange tips that have worked for them, leading to a community of shared understanding amidst parenting challenges. By embracing these supportive methods, you’re not only taking steps towards better sleep but also fostering a healthier relationship with your little one.
