Never trust a killer 🥲

You know that feeling when you go into a trial and you’re not sure which killer you’ll face, but then you realize it’s 'The Unknown'? Yeah, that was me. My heart was pounding from the start! 'The Unknown' is a really unsettling killer, and definitely lives up to their name. Their lore is creepy, a mysterious entity that spreads a debilitating hallucinogenic fog. When you’re trying to survive against them, it feels like they’re constantly just out of reach, but always watching. Their main power, 'Unbound', allows them to project a 'Husk' of themselves, which they can then teleport to. Plus, they have this projectile attack called 'UVX' that inflicts the 'Weakened' status effect, making survivors vulnerable to their 'Telefrag' ability, which downs them instantly if they're near a Husk when The Unknown teleports. It’s a lot to keep track of, especially when you’re cornered! My first tip? Stay alert for those Husks! They’re pretty obvious once you know what to look for. If you see one, try to get away from it, or if you're feeling brave, you can destroy it. Destroying Husks is key because it prevents The Unknown from teleporting and hitting you with a 'Telefrag'. You have to be smart about it though; sometimes destroying a Husk puts you in a worse position. It’s all about risk assessment, like deciding whether to THROW yourself into a risky loop or CHARGE a generator when you hear their terror radius. Another big one is to pay attention to your 'Weakened' status. If you get hit by UVX, you become Weakened. This means you need to cleanse yourself, usually by interacting with a specific prompt, to avoid being instantly downed by a Telefrag. Seriously, getting hit with a SNOWSKULL TO THE FACE feels less impactful than being insta-downed because I wasn't careful about my Weakened status! Keep an eye on your status effects and prioritize cleansing when it's safe. It's easy to forget when you're focusing on repairing gens or healing other PLAYERS. Speaking of other players, teamwork is so important against The Unknown. If one survivor is being chased, try to get generators done. If someone’s on a hook, evaluate if it’s safe to go for the save. The Unknown can be very good at tunneling, so distractions and coordinated rescues are vital. Don't be afraid to take a hit if it means your teammate can escape or finish a gen. We're all in this together, right? Finally, don't get discouraged! Facing a killer like The Unknown, or any new killer, takes practice. Each match is a learning experience. You'll figure out their movement patterns, their favorite spots to place Husks, and how to juke their UVX projectiles. Keep pushing those gens, try new perks, and remember that sometimes the best defense is a good offense – or at least, a good chase that buys your teammates time. You never truly know what a killer will do, but with enough practice, you can anticipate and counter almost anything they throw at you!
