one of my goals going into 2023 was to create income streams outside of my 9-5. 💸📈
i wanted to share the three that i have had the most success with this year!
1. SELLING OLD CLOTHES
i am constantly cleaning out my closet to avoid clutter or having items i no longer wear. i started selling the items i no longer wear on MERCARI and POSHMARK to make some extra money. plus, then i don't feel as bad for buying new clothes. 🤭
2. AMAZON STOREFRONT
creating an amazon storefront is such an easy way to earn extra income. you add the products you love to your storefront, and everytime someone clicks on your link to shop, you get a percentage of the sale!
the key here is to share your storefront link as much as you can! i have mine in my linktree in my social media bios, and i share links via pinterest when creating pins.
3. BRAND DEALS
there are 2 primary types of brand deals -->
• UGC "user generate content" is where you create content and send it back to the brand. the brand then uses the content on their social media platforms, and no posting is required from your end!
• BRAND DEALS - "regular brand deals" are where you create content and share it on your personal social media channel. often times, the larger your following and engagement gets, the more money you'll get for each post!
what are your favorite ways to make extra money from home?
... Read moreIt's amazing how a little extra income can transform your financial outlook, isn't it? Like many of you, I've been on a journey to diversify my earnings beyond a traditional 9-5. While the original post touched on some fantastic side hustles, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how to truly kickstart these ventures and make them work effectively, especially if you're just getting started with selling or looking for new side income streams.
Starting with selling old clothes is a brilliant entry point into generating side income, and it's something almost everyone can do from home! Beyond just listing items on Mercari and Poshmark (which are fantastic platforms, as visually suggested by their app logos in my experience!), success often hinges on presentation and strategy. First, declutter with a purpose: only sell items that are in good condition and have a market value. High-quality photos are crucial – good lighting, a clear background, and showing the item worn or styled can make a huge difference. Don't forget detailed descriptions, including measurements and any flaws. Pricing is key; research what similar items have sold for. For shipping, invest in some basic packaging supplies and weigh your items accurately to avoid over or undercharging. I've found that bundling items can also encourage sales and save on shipping costs for buyers, making your listings even more attractive.
The Amazon Storefront, or Amazon Influencer Program, is an incredibly accessible way to earn affiliate income. If you’re wondering how to start selling products you love, this is it! To get approved, you usually need an active social media presence. Once you're in, selecting a niche you're genuinely passionate about makes creating content much easier and more authentic. Think about what products you already use and love. The key, as mentioned, is sharing your link, but how you share it matters. Instead of just dropping a link, create engaging content around the products. This could be short video reviews, 'day in the life' content featuring the items, or helpful guides. Promote your storefront across all your platforms – Instagram stories, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, or even a personal blog. Consistency in sharing and providing genuine recommendations builds trust, which translates into clicks and sales, tying into the visual of the Amazon logo and affiliate marketing.
Navigating brand deals, whether for User-Generated Content (UGC) or traditional sponsored posts, is a fantastic way to monetize your creativity and influence. If you're looking to start earning side income through content, here’s a tip: begin by building a strong portfolio. This doesn't mean you need millions of followers; even a small, engaged audience or high-quality sample content can land you UGC gigs. For UGC, practice creating diverse content styles – unboxing videos, product demonstrations, aesthetic shots – that brands can use. When reaching out to brands (you can often find contact info on their websites or through influencer platforms), craft a personalized pitch. Highlight what you love about their brand and how your content can help them. Don't be afraid to clearly state your rates, and always have a contract in place to protect both parties. Remember, the idea of creating content from anywhere, even a scenic location like a beach with waves crashing, highlights the flexibility that often comes with this kind of work.
Regardless of which side hustle you choose, consistency and a willingness to learn are paramount. Don't get discouraged if your first few attempts don't yield massive results. Every step is a learning opportunity. Tracking your income and expenses is also crucial for understanding your profitability and potential growth. These methods have truly helped me build diverse income streams; I hope they inspire you to start selling and earning your own extra cash from home!
These are some great ideas! Thanks!
