Family cruise
A mini vlog *in photos*
Spent the first 2.5 days at sea.
Most of our time was spent getting situated, exploring the ship, eating & relaxing.
Sunday I finished Fourth Wing !! And ofc instantly started iron flame lol. Desperately trying to finish before launch of book 3 in Jan!
Considering we had 2 days straight on the boat, we figured it was the perfect time to get a lift in
Monday I spent a good chunk of the day touching base with clients & doing weekly check ins 🦋 how lucky am I to work from the deck of a cruise & talk to all my favorite people!?
Today we headed over to St. Maarten which I’ll share in tomorrows recap ☺️

So, you've seen my photo-vlog from the first couple of days on our incredible family cruise! Those 'days at sea' are truly unique – it’s not just about getting from point A to B, but about fully immersing yourself in the ship's offerings. If you're planning your own cruise, here are some tips based on our experience to make the most of those non-port days, especially if you're hoping to capture your own 'cruise ship vlog' in photos or videos! Making the Most of Onboard Activities & Keeping Active: One thing I loved was having dedicated time for activities right on the ship. We definitely hit the gym early on Day 1, which was fantastic for burning off some of those delicious cruise calories. It felt amazing to get in two new personal bests while overlooking the ocean – such a unique experience! Don't forget to explore the outdoor decks too. We clocked over 13,000 steps just walking the track and exploring every nook and cranny. Many ships have pools, jacuzzis, mini-golf, and even climbing walls. Check your daily planner for scheduled events like trivia, dance classes, or live music. These are perfect for your 'vlog' content! Dining Delights: More Than Just Meals: The food on a cruise is definitely a highlight! Beyond the main dining room, make sure to try some of the specialty restaurants if your cruise offers them. We enjoyed everything from casual breakfast options like avocado toast to hearty dinners like roasted beef and lasagna. Don't skip the formal dinner nights! It's a fun excuse to dress up and enjoy a more upscale experience. I always recommend trying a bit of everything – from appetizers to desserts like apple cobbler and lemon tart. It’s all part of the adventure and makes for great 'vlog' footage! Balancing Work & Relaxation (Yes, it's possible!): For those of us who need to stay connected, working remotely from a cruise ship deck was surprisingly feasible. I scheduled my client check-ins for specific times, utilizing the ship's Wi-Fi (though it can be pricey, so plan efficiently!). Finding a quiet spot with an ocean view and a good cup of coffee made those work hours fly by. But don't forget to balance it with plenty of downtime! I managed to dive into a couple of great books, finishing 'Fourth Wing' and starting 'Iron Flame' – perfect for lounging by the pool or on our balcony. Preparing for Port Days: As our sea days wrapped up, we started getting excited for our first port of call: St. Maarten! While the ship life is amazing, those island excursions are what many look forward to. Make sure to research your ports ahead of time, plan any tours or activities, and pack a small day bag with essentials like sunscreen, a hat, and water. It helps to have a rough itinerary so you can maximize your time ashore. Stay tuned for my next update with all the St. Maarten highlights! By focusing on these aspects, you can create a truly comprehensive and engaging 'cruise ship vlog' that goes beyond just pretty pictures, offering practical insights and a real feel for the journey.
