Alright. Story time.
I’ll come out and say it straight up. I met my boyfriend on a dating app. I know there are pro’s and con’s to utilizing dating apps.
👍Pros : passive searching with no strings attached (it’s like shopping😂🤚🏼)
🤔Cons: you have to develop feelings for your match after the fact.
I was definitely hooked on the con. I was worried that I would find out I didn’t see myself with them or I would find out information about them over time that wouldn’t be compatible with me. I didn’t like the idea of having to “develop a crush”. My ideal situation was to fall in love with my real life best friend but that is not my story. I was having trouble making friends in real life and my options were either taken men (I’m no man snatcher) or men I genuinely didn’t see in a romantic light. So I did the thing I was not raised to do. After a couple of months of trial, tears, and failed dates, I found Carson.
Carson and I quickly clicked and we started to develop feelings for one-another over FaceTime before we even had the chance to go on a first date. He was a busy college student who lived an hour and a half away from me so we made a point to FaceTime for a few weeks before our first date. We were in love. We even kissed on our first date because the chemistry and feelings were definitely there!
Overall dating apps can be a flop or a success. You just have to match with the right one and that takes time. It took me a minute to tell my parents how I met Carson, for fear of judgement of how I met him. (I was raised in a Christian home) they seemed to relax about it after they met him. DATING APPS ARE NOT CRINGY.
This is how I met my future husband!🥰
