Unaesthetic Makeup Collection 💄⚡️💋

I’ve been caught in a dilemma…🤔

After consuming trendy makeup content on social media platforms and trying some of these products for myself, I found that they don’t work well… or at least not for me.

Even though I would like to have and utilize trendy makeup products that you see in every “get ready with me” TikTok…I’d rather repurchase more affordable products that I know work for me.

It’s okay to have off brand or drug store makeup products. Its okay to love that brow pencil from dollar tree. This doesn’t mean you “aren’t trendy”…this means you are prioritizing what actually works for you.

Sometimes we forgot these cheaper products are formulated similarly to high end…

What are your thoughts? 🩷

... Read moreHey everyone! So, building on my earlier thoughts about embracing what really works for your skin, I wanted to dive deeper into one of my absolute holy grail products that often gets overlooked in the sea of viral trends: the e.l.f. HD Flawless Setting Powder in Universal Translucent. You might have seen it briefly mentioned as part of my 'unaesthetic' collection, but trust me, this little gem deserves its own moment in the spotlight. Before I discovered this, I was constantly on the hunt for a setting powder that wouldn't make me look cakey or accentuate fine lines, especially under my eyes. I tried everything from high-end brands that promised airbrushed perfection to other drugstore options, and honestly, most left me feeling disappointed. They either gave me a ghostly white cast in photos, settled into my pores, or just didn't hold up throughout the day. Then, I stumbled upon the e.l.f. HD Flawless Setting Powder. The 'translucent' aspect immediately appealed to me because I hate worrying about finding a perfect shade match, especially for a powder that's just meant to set. What truly blew me away was how finely milled it is. Seriously, it's like silk! When I first applied it with a fluffy brush, it just melted into my skin, blurring imperfections without adding any extra weight or color. It genuinely gives that 'HD' finish without being detectable on the skin. My routine usually involves applying my liquid foundation and concealer, and then I gently press this translucent powder into my T-zone and under-eye area using a damp beauty sponge for a more intense set, or a large, soft brush for a lighter, all-over finish. For me, the magic happens in how it prolongs the wear of my makeup. I'm talking 8+ hours without significant creasing or oiliness, even on busier days. It's fantastic for keeping shine at bay, especially if you have combination or oily skin like mine. One of the biggest concerns with HD powders can be flashback in photography, but in my experience with the e.l.f. HD Flawless Setting Powder, I haven't encountered any issues. I've worn it to events, taken countless photos, and never once looked like a ghost. This is a huge win for an affordable product! What makes this powder truly stand out for me, beyond its performance, is the price point. At just a few dollars, it outperforms many powders three or four times its cost. It’s a testament to the idea that you don't need to spend a fortune to achieve a polished, long-lasting makeup look. It reinforces my belief that it's okay to embrace those 'off-brand' or drugstore finds that genuinely deliver. So, if you're like me and you're tired of products that don't live up to their trendy promises, I highly recommend giving the e.l.f. HD Flawless Setting Powder in Universal Translucent a try. It’s a true workhorse in my collection and, frankly, one of the best budget-friendly beauty buys out there. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a reliable, invisible set that makes your makeup last all day without any fuss. What are your favorite affordable setting powders? Share below!
