... Read moreAs a healthcare worker, I totally get the struggle of finding scrubs that feel good and actually last. For years, I just bought whatever was on sale, thinking 'scrubs are scrubs, right?' But then I started hearing all the buzz about FIGS, and like many of you, I asked myself: 'Are FIGS scrubs worth the price?' I was genuinely skeptical about spending more on workwear, but curiosity got the better of me.
My first impression was definitely about the fabric. It’s incredibly soft and feels much more premium than other brands I’ve tried. I remember putting on my first pair and immediately noticing the difference in how they moved with me, instead of feeling stiff and restrictive. This was a game-changer, especially during those incredibly long shifts where every little bit of comfort counts. The fit is also surprisingly flattering, which, let's be honest, is a nice bonus when you're spending 12+ hours in them!
Beyond the initial comfort, I've really put my FIGS scrubs through the wringer. I’m talking countless washes, spills, and the general wear and tear of a busy hospital environment. What I've found is that they hold up remarkably well. The colors haven't faded as quickly as my old scrubs, and the seams are still intact. This durability is a huge factor when you're considering the higher price point. If they last twice as long as cheaper alternatives, then the initial investment starts to make a lot more sense.
However, it’s not all sunshine and roses. The price tag is a significant consideration. If you're just starting out or working part-time, building a full FIGS wardrobe can definitely hurt your wallet. I also find their sales are not as frequent or deep as other brands, so you often have to pay full price. Sizing can also be a bit tricky; I recommend checking their size guide thoroughly and maybe even trying a pair from a colleague if you can, before committing to a full order.
So, are FIGS scrubs worth it? For me, yes, they absolutely are, especially if you prioritize comfort, durability, and a professional look for long shifts. They truly feel like an upgrade that supports me through my demanding workday. If you're on the fence, I'd suggest starting with one or two sets to see how you like them. Think of it as an investment in your comfort and professional well-being. Keeping them in good shape by following washing instructions (cold wash, tumble dry low!) will also help extend their life and ensure you get the most out of your purchase. Ultimately, the decision comes down to your personal budget and what you value most in your work attire, but for me, they’ve proven their worth.
Worth it. They just show out every time. I’ve tried Mandala and others but the look just does not compare. They are not the stretchiest - Januu is a close second.
You can find tons on poshmark, I always wait for sales and snag what I want. They have lasted me years with no issues.
