My favorite ROSES
Roses have always held a special place in my heart, not only for their stunning beauty but also for the emotions they evoke. Over the years, I've experimented with growing different rose varieties, and I’ve learned a few valuable lessons that I’d love to share. One of my all-time favorite types is the hybrid tea rose because of its classic shape and size—it’s perfect for bouquets and special occasions. I find that hybrid teas thrive when planted in areas with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Regular pruning and feeding with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season keeps them blooming profusely. Another variety I adore is the shrub rose, which is more forgiving and resilient in less-than-ideal conditions. These roses are great if you’re new to gardening or if you want a beautiful, low-maintenance option. They’re also excellent for creating natural borders or privacy screens. A tip I’ve found helpful is to always check for disease-resistant varieties, especially if you live in humid climates where black spot and powdery mildew are common. Choosing resistant roses reduces the need for chemical treatments and helps maintain a healthy garden ecosystem. Additionally, I love including climbing roses in my garden. They add vertical interest and can transform plain walls, fences, or trellises into gorgeous floral displays. Just be sure to provide sturdy support and tie the shoots gently as they grow. Caring for roses takes patience and attention, but the reward of seeing vibrant blooms makes it worthwhile. Whether you’re looking for fragrant blooms, vibrant colors, or long-stemmed varieties for floral arrangements, roses offer endless possibilities. I encourage all gardeners to experiment with different types to find the ones that bring joy and beauty to their outdoor spaces.
