Some other Pokemon I’ve done
As an artist, there's nothing quite like bringing beloved characters to life through drawing, and Pokémon definitely holds a special place in my heart! I often get asked what inspires me or how I approach drawing certain Pokémon, so I wanted to share a bit more about the process behind some of my recent pieces, especially for those who enjoy Pokémon illustrations or are looking for some fan art inspiration. Take Snorlax, for example. When I drew him with his mouth open, my goal was to really capture that iconic, carefree joy he embodies. It's all about getting the curves of his face and that wide, happy grin just right. For a large Pokémon like Snorlax, conveying his gentle giant persona through a simple expression is key. It's one of those designs that instantly makes you smile, and that's what I aimed for in the drawing. Then there’s Mewtwo, a truly captivating humanoid Pokémon. Drawing Mewtwo is always an exciting challenge because of its powerful aura and sleek, almost ethereal design. I focused on emphasizing its psychic energy, often shown through glowing effects around its hands, to highlight its formidable abilities and thoughtful, intense presence. Its bipedal form allows for dynamic poses, making it a fantastic subject for expressive fan art. And who could forget Shaymin? Specifically, its Land Forme, which is often described as a white hedgehog Pokémon. Its delicate features, adorned with green leaves and pink flowers, require a softer touch. I love illustrating the subtle details that make Shaymin so endearing, from its gentle eyes to the intricate floral patterns on its back. It’s a wonderful contrast to the more powerful or playful Pokémon and offers a chance to explore a different kind of charm. Beyond these, I love exploring other unique Pokémon. Obstagoon, with its rock-and-roll attitude and bold black and white design, is fantastic for dynamic and expressive art. Capturing its energetic stance and sharp features is a lot of fun. Even an unusual pairing like the colossal Wailord and the crystalline Stakataka presents interesting artistic challenges – thinking about how their forms interact and complement each other, even in a surreal way, pushes my creativity. Whether it’s focusing on the intricate details of a specific Pokémon or playing with how different species might look together, every drawing is an adventure. I hope these insights help fellow artists or just bring a smile to other Pokémon fans!
