gym routine - weight loss journey
hi! I’ve been working out for over a year now so I’ve learned a lot about weightlifting, cardio, weight loss, health, etc. here’s my current routine (that works best for me) 💗
💗Core + Cardio (1 or 2 times a week depending on how tired I am and if I need a day without weightlifting)
- a blend of different workouts (can be found ANYWHERE) for 15-30 mins (menstrual cycles play a big part in how often and how hard we can workout)
- cardio on treadmill (a LIT for longer periods of time is the swear spot) I usually do 5 incline, 3 speed (short legs lol)
💗Quads (Leg Day bby)
3-5 workouts either 3x10 4x8 or drop sets (totally depends on my mood)
I choose between these workouts (sometimes I add in other stuff I want to try out)
• Bulgarian split squats
•lunges of any kind
•goblet squats
• drop squat machine
•leg press
•leg extension
•RDLS , one leg RDLS
•hip thrusts
After weightlifting 20-30 mins on treadmill (LIT)
💗Glutes
same as leg day but I add in some glute focused exercises (sumo squats, pulses, RDLS, leg press different feet position, etc)
💗Arms
Lately I’ve been trying for a Pilate style arm workout instead of weightlifting heavy! So light weights but you’re doing the workouts a little while longer and not focusing on lifting heavy just feeling the burn!
Treadmill 20-30 min
💗Full Body
If I make it 5 days a week I try to hit full body which is just a mixture of a bunch of different workouts (honestly so fun to hit everything)
Treadmill 30 min
That’s it, I’ll go in more depth detail soon! 💗
Starting a weight loss journey requires commitment and the right workout routine tailored to your needs. Incorporating various exercises is crucial for maintaining motivation and achieving balanced fitness. For instance, alternating between cardio and strength training can optimize calorie burn, promote muscle growth, and improve overall health. It's vital to listen to your body and adjust your routines based on energy levels, particularly during different phases of the menstrual cycle, which can influence workout intensity and frequency. When focusing on specific muscle groups such as the quads and glutes, integrating variations like Bulgarian split squats, lunges, and hip thrusts can yield excellent results. Pilate-style arm workouts offer an alternative approach that focuses on endurance rather than sheer weight, helping to tone muscles without overexertion. Regular assessments of your progress and the flexibility to adapt your routine will not only help in achieving weight loss goals but also keep your workouts enjoyable and engaging. As you continue your gym routine, remember to mix up your workouts to avoid plateaus, introduce new challenges, and keep your motivation high. Aim to maintain a balanced approach, ensuring you incorporate recovery days to avoid burnout. Ultimately, your fitness journey should be a source of joy and empowerment, cultivating a healthier lifestyle that lasts beyond your time in the gym.
