Who’s In Your Village?

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I couldn’t agree more. My village includes my mom, stepdad, in-laws, and my best friend and her kids, who are like built-in besties for mine. My sister and her kids (including her little one on the way) are also a huge part of it.

I know not everyone has found their village yet, and that can be tough. So tell me—have you found yours? If not, consider me part of it! Let’s support each other.

... Read moreFinding your parenting village can be a transformative experience. This support system isn’t just about having friends; it’s about creating an environment where both you and your children can thrive. Research shows that having a network of supportive parents can decrease stress and enhance your child's social skills. In today’s fast-paced world, mothers often feel isolated, and knowing that you have others to reach out to can be a vital lifeline. Consider joining local parenting groups or online forums where you can interact with other mothers facing similar challenges. Building connections over shared interests, such as parenting styles or child-rearing philosophies, fosters deeper relationships and collaboration among parents. You can also utilize social media platforms to find or create groups focused on sharing resources, organizing playdates, or simply lending an ear when needed. Remember, it’s not always about the quantity of people in your life but the quality of relationships that truly matter. Finding ways to support each other through the highs and lows of parenting can lead to lasting friendships and a nurturing environment for your children. Don’t hesitate to extend your hands to others; sometimes a simple acknowledgment can help someone feeling alone. Embrace the village that is out there, waiting to support and uplift you!
