Bang Refresh!
If you have been thinking about getting bangs, this is your sign! I made the decision in January and have been obsessed with them ever since!
There are so many fun hairstyles that you can do with bangs, no more bad hair days! 👏 Also they gave me just a sexy confidence I didn't know existed! ❤️
So you're feeling inspired to get bangs, or maybe you've already had 'the BANGS!' for a while and are looking for some fresh styling ideas, or even troubleshooting common issues. Trust me, I've been there! After my own 'bang refresh' journey, I've learned so much about making them work for me, and I can't wait to share some tips that have made me truly *love a bang refresh*! Mastering the Swoopy Bangs Look One of my favorite styles is the effortlessly chic swoopy bangs. It took a little practice, but here’s my go-to method: After washing, I use a round brush and blow-dry my bangs to one side, then to the other, making sure to lift at the root. Finally, I swoop them into place. A light-hold hairspray or a dab of texturizing cream helps them stay put without feeling stiff. The trick is to create that natural curve without them looking too 'done.' Keeping Side-Swept Bangs in Place All Day If you're like me, you want your side-swept bangs to stay put without constantly fiddling with them. My secret weapon? A tiny bit of root-lifting spray applied when wet, followed by blow-drying them across your forehead in the opposite direction you want them to fall, then sweeping them back. Finish with a quick blast of cool air and a light mist of flexible hold hairspray. Sometimes, a well-placed bobby pin, hidden under a layer of hair, is your best friend on windy days! Exploring the Charm of Slight Bangs Maybe you're not ready for a full, dramatic fringe, and that's totally okay! Slight bangs, sometimes called 'soft bangs' or 'whispy bangs,' are a fantastic entry point. They're usually longer, more blended into the rest of your hair, and can be easily swept to the side. They offer that face-framing softness without the commitment of a heavier fringe. When talking to your stylist, ask for bangs that are 'long enough to sweep away easily' and 'softly blended' to achieve this look. It’s a great way to dip your toes into the bang world! Tackling the Dreaded Bangs Clumping Together Ugh, nothing ruins a good bang day like them clumping together! I've found a few things that help. First, try not to overload them with product. Less is definitely more. Second, for me, washing my bangs separately in the sink every morning has been a game-changer. It refreshes them without a full hair wash. Alternatively, a sprinkle of dry shampoo at the roots can absorb excess oil and give them that fresh, separated look. Avoid touching them too much throughout the day – our hands transfer oils! Styling Micro Bangs with Wavy Hair If you've got wavy hair and are thinking about micro bangs, you're in for a fun, edgy look! The key is to embrace your natural texture. Instead of fighting the waves, work with them. After washing, I like to apply a tiny bit of lightweight mousse or a curl-enhancing cream to my bangs. Then, I let them air dry as much as possible or use a diffuser on a low setting. This helps to define the waves without creating frizz. The beauty of micro bangs on wavy hair is that they’re meant to look a bit undone and effortless, so don't aim for perfect straightness – let those waves shine!
