pork is not porky

If you don't get my title, this is not for you 😝

If you get it, means you're like me who is sensitive to pork/meat taste. You can rest assure that the pork dumplings at yuen kee dumpling are 👌🏻👌🏻

I've actually heard about this place when it first opened at Somerset 313 food court but it didn't pique my interest because I generally do not like minced meat especially pork. I didnt know that it was some famous place actually (at fortune centre). Finally tried it thanks to my colleagues! To be honest I was initially hesitant but I thought I'd just spam chilli oil if I am really not able to take the taste. Turns out, the dumplings were really tasty and I would definitely come back again!

My top 2 choices

1️⃣ Shrimp and vegetable

2️⃣ Pork and chives

I thought i would like the crab roe as I'm a seafood person, but it was okay only for me.

If you do decide to visit during lunch hour, you got to make sure you reach before 1215pm to avoid the long queues!!

... Read moreFor those curious about Yuen Kee Dumplings beyond just the taste, here's what I discovered: This spot is well-loved in Singapore for offering dumplings that don’t have the strong porky flavor that can be off-putting to sensitive eaters like me. The pork and chives dumplings stand out because the pork flavor is mild and balanced, which surprised me since I usually avoid minced pork dishes. If you're watching your calorie intake, Yuen Kee offers a good variety of dumplings that feel fresh and satisfying without being too heavy or greasy. Pairing them with a bit of their spicy chili oil truly enhances the taste. I also noticed from the menu that they focus on quality ingredients, which adds to the overall enjoyable experience. When planning a visit, try to avoid peak lunch hours, especially after 12:15 pm, because the queue can get quite long. I prefer going with colleagues for a quick lunch catch-up and found the food court atmosphere at Somerset 313 or Fortune Centre very convenient. In addition to the classic pork and chives, the shrimp and vegetable dumplings are fantastic and offer a lighter option that seafood lovers will appreciate. While the crab roe dumplings sounded tempting, they weren’t my favorite, but your taste buds might differ! For those interested, Yuen Kee also has a presence online, and some locations like Jem and Vivocity provide additional access points. Ordering online for takeaway can be a good option if you want to enjoy their dumplings without waiting in line.
