Teaching while Fighting Cancer
Long post: Going to push myself to not use my walker at work tomorrow. All while I was on FMLA I was doing lesson plans and grades. I had no more medical leaves days left because I used them when Ihad my double Mastectomy. Well what does my school do without warning they take my entire check. I feel it's unfair because even though l was not there physically I was still working from the ICU, hospital floor, and home. All while experiencing the worst pain ever, trying to learn to walk, having PTSD episodes, seizures and on high pain meds. I failed my own classes for my master degree where my gpa was a 4.0 but made sure my students had grades and lessons. Then they decided not to pay me on the first of the month when rent and bills are due. We are so unappreciated as teachers. Fighting cancer and still showing up says a lot about my character. There has to be a blessing when this storm is. Can't believe they did that to me. Ima be aight God gone make a way. I know they broke laws. It will all come out. Served my country. Served these student. Now I'm fighting for my life and not receiving the type of service I would give. I'm just built different. To be continued;
