NK Restaurant in Long Island, NY
📍Location: NK Restaurant (also known as Nuvo Kitchen)
Hi Everyone! I’m back with another great Long Island food find. Specifically in East Meadow, NK Restaurant is a beautiful Caribbean restaurant that is great for brunch and good to take your loved on out for dinner. Their Mac and cheese is 🔥 and I also had their curry shrimp with roti. The curry was nice and spicy and so flavorful!
I took my friend here for her birthday and I put specific instructions in the reservation for the birthday cake surprise. They nailed it. She was so happy and surprised.
She also had the pineapple chicken (chicken and rice in an actual pineapple with plantains on the side) and she described it as perfect. - not pictured.

Hey foodies! After my recent fantastic visit to NK Restaurant (aka Nuvo Kitchen) in East Meadow, Long Island, I just had to share more details about this Caribbean gem. You guys asked for more reviews and menu insights, so here we go! First off, let's talk about the food that blew me away. You absolutely have to try their Mac and Cheese. It's not just any mac and cheese; it's a golden-brown, baked masterpiece, topped with crispy breadcrumbs and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Seriously, every bite is pure comfort, rich with cheesy goodness that's perfectly balanced. It’s hard to find mac and cheese done this well, and theirs is definitely a standout. Then there's the Curry Shrimp. Oh my goodness, the flavor! Served in a generous bowl, you'll find plump, perfectly cooked shrimp swimming in a beautifully spiced curry sauce, alongside fresh green beans, corn, and carrots. And of course, it comes with a side of warm, flaky roti, perfect for soaking up every last drop of that amazing sauce. The curry itself is wonderfully aromatic, with just the right amount of kick – spicy enough to get your taste buds tingling but not so overpowering that you can't savor the rich Caribbean spices. It’s truly an authentic taste sensation. And for something truly unique, my friend raved about their Pineapple Chicken. Imagine tender chicken and rice, beautifully presented inside an actual hollowed-out pineapple, complete with perfectly caramelized plantains on the side. It's not just a feast for the eyes; she described it as 'perfect,' a delicious blend of sweet and savory that you won't forget. It’s such a fun and tropical dish! Beyond the incredible food, the vibe at NK Restaurant is just right. It’s a versatile spot – bright and inviting for a lively brunch with friends, or intimate and cozy if you're planning a romantic dinner. I loved how accommodating they were when I planned a surprise for my friend's birthday; they really went the extra mile to make it special. It truly feels like a place where they care about your experience. If you're planning a visit, especially on a weekend, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation, as this place is gaining popularity! And for those wondering about local attractions, if you're in the area and looking to make a day of it, consider a scenic stroll around Pier 95 before or after your meal. It’s a lovely way to enjoy the Long Island waterfront and build up an appetite, or walk off that delicious mac and cheese! Overall, NK Restaurant (Nuvo Kitchen) continues to be a top recommendation from me. Their commitment to flavorful Caribbean cuisine and excellent service makes it a must-visit in Long Island. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but definitely start with the mac and cheese and curry shrimp. You won't regret it!
