Halloween Party at Bran Castle | Bran 🇷🇴
I recently had the opportunity to attend the annual Halloween Party at Bran Castle. It was a really interesting experience, but not what I was expecting. My friends and I had been planning our ‘Euro Fall’ trip for roughly a year and the big highlight (and the reason half our group went on this trip) was this Halloween party. There are few different levels of tickets, but I can only speak on the one I purchased. I purchased a mid-range ticket for $114 that allowed me to tour the castle and then also gave me access to the Halloween Party in the courtyard area.
The castle itself was really beautiful, they had it decorated for Halloween and I personally feel like the decor could’ve been better I found most of it to be kind of tacky (think store bought spider webs). I think with how expensive entry tickets are they could’ve put a bit more effort into the decor.
My friends had a really amazing time at the party, I unfortunately didn’t have a great time. The party took place in a tent in the courtyard (I was expecting something more ‘open air’). The tent had 4 tables with seating - each table had 8-10 seats - the were supposedly close to 1,000 guests. I didn’t expect there to be a table or seat for every single person but when you’re hosting an eight hour long party I’d expect a bit more seating (they did have a handful of bean bag chairs placed throughout the courtyard but, again not adaquate amount for 1,000 people). Now, the reason I didn’t have a great time was not because they didn’t have good seating options (I wouldn’t have let that ruin my night). I started to feel incredibly unwell about an hour or two into the party although I wasn’t really drinking much (I’d had about half a mixed drink at that point). I believe I was probably feeling a combination of overwhelmed and overheated.
Overall, I think the party was really good my main issues were no fault of the party itself. I think it could be even better if they make some minor tweaks. I’d definitely give it another shot, hopefully one where I don’t get sick!
