POV my son is Quadriplegic

My son was in a car wreck December 11, 2024 along side his younger brother. As a result of the accident, Thaddeus broke his neck and sustained a spinal cord injury leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. His doctors classified him a c6 quadriplegic. Buuuut, we never fully accepted the diagnosis!!! We’ve been meditating, praying, doing intense visualization exercises, extensive therapy and having UNWAVERING FAITH!!!! His neurologist that performed his surgery 2 days after his accident told me my son was only going to be able to move his head, neck, shoulders and the upper part of his arms. As you can see, he’s moving way more than that!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 This journey has been a rough one, but not an impossible one. As his mother, I’m proud!!! He’s the strongest person I know and I love him deeply. #fightThaddeus #spinalcordinjury #quadriplegic

Spinal cord injuries can vary immensely in their impact, and each journey is unique. Quadriplegia, a condition where individuals experience paralysis in all four limbs, requires a great deal of adjustment and support. In our case, the initial prognosis from the neurologist was daunting, suggesting limited mobility. However, with a combination of therapy, visualization techniques, and an immense support system, several patients and families, including us, are discovering new possibilities. Therapies such as physical and occupational rehabilitation are pivotal in recovery. They help improve muscle strength, coordination, and daily living skills despite initial setbacks. Moreover, adaptive technologies and innovative therapies are evolving, providing hope for greater independence and mobility. Community support is invaluable as well. Connecting with others who share similar experiences allows families to share resources, experiences, and emotional encouragement. Organizations that focus on spinal cord injury rehabilitation continuously offer programs to foster healing and recovery. The journey can be long and filled with obstacles. However, it is worth noting that many individuals post-injury have found purposeful paths in advocacy, art, or engagement with community initiatives. Their stories often inspire hope and resilience, further emphasizing the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity. Together, we can uplift each other and pave the way for brighter futures, showing that even in dire circumstances, the human spirit can prevail.
