During spring break, I traveled to McAllen, Texas with my university’s Alternative Break program. We spent the week serving migrant families, connecting with people in colonias, and meeting those who had just crossed the border. It wasn’t just a service trip—it was a lesson in empathy, justice, and what it really means to show up for others.
God placed me exactly where I needed to be. And I left with a deeper understanding of the work I’m called to do—as a student, a future healthcare professional, and a woman of faith.
