2016 as a teen living in nyc

I love this trend lol

1/15 Edited to

... Read moreLiving as a teen in New York City in 2016 meant being at the heart of some seriously unforgettable fashion trends. The vibe was all about mixing edgy streetwear with high fashion pieces, which is perfectly captured by iconic items like the Kat Von D liquid lipstick and the Supreme hat paired with Comme des Garçons sneakers. Urban Outfitters was the go-to spot to snap those perfect outfit inspo pics. One of my favorite memories is how Moschino dominated the scene, especially at events like the Governors Ball where wearing Moschino pieces made you feel like a style icon. The Meadows Music and Arts Festival brought out the best in festival fashion, pairing Topshop jeans with classic Dr. Martens—this combo never went out of style that year. I also remember hunting for those lace-up skirts and over-the-knee socks, which felt like a cool throwback to the edgy stores of the time like LF. Accessorizing with chokers was a must—these little pieces added just the right touch of grunge to any outfit. Outerwear was just as important, with army green jackets becoming staple layering pieces, especially when styled with zodiac-inspired accessories like Libra necklaces for that personal touch. And who could forget pairing a cozy fur jacket with a plaid lace-up shirt underneath? It captured that layered, effortlessly cool NYC teen look. Overall, 2016 was a time when fashion was loud and fun, blending luxury with streetwear in a way that helped teens express their personalities and urban culture. Looking back, these trends still inspire many of the styles we see resurfacing today.

Living in NYC in a shared 1 bedroom can be a struggle sometimes! We’re short on storage, so it’s easy to look cluttered and things need to be left in the open a lot of the times. My strategy has become to shove things in closets and behind the couch 🤦🏼‍♀️ So excited to move in a couple months an
