CrossFit 🏋🏾♀️
So first things first I like to try things but I also get a little anxiety about trying things and especially alone!! So how did I end up here? Well …I found them because I like to be nosy on my local city FB groups and someone was looking for a trainer (I too was looking for a trainer) and they came highly recommended so I hit them up and they hit me back with a free trial. I’ve never done anything close to CrossFit, I didn’t know what to expect and I had every intention on recording. Boyyy when I tell you I got in there and my instructor kicked my behind 🫠😭😂 in a good way . When I told her it was my first time she was like oh lord 🤣 but she was super helpful with my form, checked on me and encouraged me. This one was a guided class style that was nonstop my arms feel like jello but..10/10 I’d definitely go back! #blackgirlfitnessjourney #crossfit #fitlife #inspiration
CrossFit is more than just a workout; it's a supportive community that helps individuals push past their limits. For those new to CrossFit, the environment can be intimidating, but it's essential to remember that everyone starts somewhere. Many people have experienced similar fears of trying this high-intensity training alone. However, the camaraderie among participants is one of the best aspects of this fitness regime. Instructors are often trained to accommodate newcomers and provide modifications for more challenging exercises. When engaging in a CrossFit class, expect a blend of cardio and strength training. Additionally, the fact that sessions often vary means that monotony is avoided, keeping each workout fresh and motivational. Workouts usually involve routines known as WODs (Workouts of the Day), which can range from functional movements like squats and deadlifts to dynamic exercises such as box jumps and kettlebell swings. Furthermore, numerous studies suggest that participating in group exercise can lead to increased motivation and accountability, which is something I found in my own experience. Make sure to listen to your body and maintain a positive mindset; over time, you’ll notice improvements not only in strength but also in your confidence levels. So if you're contemplating trying CrossFit, don’t let anxiety hold you back. Embrace this opportunity to discover a powerful and engaging way to enhance your fitness journey!
